Each plate is set on a cream mount with a caption band underneath giving the bird in bold, an invented locality such as Acorn Territory or Whisky-Jack Woods, and a strip of mock survey figures covering elevation, latitude, longitude and plate reference, the archive touch that gives the group its museum manner. Audubon's Birds of America appeared from 1827 as hand-coloured engravings worked up from his field watercolours, and corvids gave him room for the social groupings he liked to stage. Strong blues and greens work in a kitchen, a study, a child's room or a bright entryway. Lustre is a beautiful finish which is somewhere between a Matte and a Gloss. If you're not sure what to choose then Lustre looks fantastic on al prints in our store. If you'd like your item printed onto a stiff watercolour-style paper which has a textured rougher surface then choose our \"textured\" option.
